Local bus services:
Initial discussions have already taken place with a number of local bus operators highlighting the fact that DCS have ceased trading, and that a number of key bus routes in BwD are no longer served. Further information has been circulated today (16th December 2016) by way of a package to all operators asking if they might be interested in looking at the vacated commercial and contracted services. Operators have told us that they will review the information provided in detail over the weekend and discussions will continue with Council Transport Officers next week. We will be flexible over quick start registrations and alternative options in terms of routes and timetables.
The Transport Team has been giving advice today to concerned residents, and have been going through nearest services and alternative demand responsive services i.e. Travel Assist or Dial A Ride (both of which are chargeable).
I will keep you updated on this – early next week.
